Terms of Service

These terms are for our first testers. Capture is free while we test it together. We will review and update these terms before Capture opens to the public. Questions? Write to support@steppeandstone.one.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Steppe and Stone FZ-L.L.C, a company registered in the Meydan Free Zone, Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("we", "us"), for using the Steppe Stone Capture website and app ("Capture"). By using Capture, you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
2. The tester phase
Capture is an early version that we are building with our first testers. During the tester phase: • Capture is free. • Features can change, break or be removed. • We may pause or end the tester phase. We will try to give you notice and time to export your data first.
3. Paid plans later
We plan to introduce paid plans. We will tell you the prices and terms in advance. You will never be charged unless you choose a paid plan.
4. Your account
You need to be at least 16 and have a Google account. Give us accurate details, keep your sign-in secure and do not share your account. Invite codes are personal. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
5. Your content
Your receipts, trips and reports belong to you. You allow us to store, process and show them only to run Capture for you, including through the services named in our Privacy Policy. You confirm you have the right to upload what you add.
6. Check before you submit
Capture reads receipts automatically and converts currencies with published reference rates from the European Central Bank and the Central Bank of the UAE. Results can be wrong, and your employer or tax office may use different rates. Please check amounts, currencies and categories before you submit a report, an expense claim or a tax return. You are responsible for what you submit. Capture is not accounting, tax or legal advice. Self-made receipts and cash entries must describe real expenses.
7. Fair use
Do not use Capture to break the law, create false or altered receipts, or mislead an employer, client or authority. Do not try to break, overload, copy or reverse-engineer Capture, access other people's data, or upload harmful files.
8. Security in the tester phase
We protect your data with reasonable measures: encrypted connections, established providers and limited access. Capture is still an early version, though, and no system is completely secure. To keep the risk low: • Only add receipts and documents you need for your expenses. Do not upload passports or ID cards, full card numbers, bank statements or health documents. • Capture saves a copy of every receipt in your own Google Drive, so you always keep your own copies. • Tell us straight away at support@steppeandstone.one if you think someone has accessed your account.
9. Other services
Capture needs a Google account to save your receipts and reports in your Google Drive and Sheets. Google's own terms apply to your Google account. We are not responsible for services we do not run.
10. Feedback
We are grateful for your feedback. You allow us to use it to improve Capture, without any obligation to you.
11. Our rights
Capture, its design, name and brand belong to Steppe and Stone FZ-L.L.C. These terms do not give you any rights to them beyond using the app.
12. Ending
You can stop using Capture and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
13. No guarantees
During the tester phase, Capture is provided "as is" and "as available", as far as the law allows. We do our best, but we cannot promise that it will always work, be error-free, be free of security incidents, or keep every piece of data.
14. Liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for: • indirect or consequential losses, • lost or damaged data, • expense claims that are rejected or delayed, • loss caused by someone accessing your data without permission, such as an attack on us or on one of our providers, unless we caused it through gross negligence or on purpose. Our total liability for everything related to Capture is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, or AED 100, whichever is higher. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer in the country where you live.
15. Changes
We may update these terms as Capture grows. We will update the date at the top, and tell you by email or in the app before any important change. If you keep using Capture after that, the new terms apply.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. The courts of Dubai decide disputes. This does not take away the protection of mandatory consumer laws in the country where you live.
